A modern waterfront home in one of Miami’s most affluent neighborhoods hit the market this month with an interesting interior detail: There’s some hardcore Chanel fandom going on in the master bedroom.
Asking just under $20 million, this Tahiti Beach Island Road mansion’s master features an array of Chanel-themed features, such as Chanel-branded throw pillows, a headboard with black lambskin quilted like a Chanel purse, and a couch upholstered in Linton tweed (the same material used for Coco Chanel’s suits).
There’s also that Gucci blanket.
The owners are Charles Fernandez and his wife, Lauren Sturges-Fernandez, according to public record. In an Ocean Drive feature highlighting 5 Miamians and Their Fashion Obsessions, Mrs. Fernandez, a Chanel collector, was quoted as describing her bay-facing bedroom as “a full-on tribute, all in ivory and black,” further detailing how the closet has glass shelves that light up so she “can enjoy her collection of bags, jewelry, and clothing ‘as the beautiful objects of art that they are.’”
The 10,441-square-foot home includes six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a movie theater, an executive’s office, and 127 feet of unobstructed water frontage along Biscayne Bay.
The property previously sold for $9.2 million in 2008.
