Homebuilder and designer list two waterfront Fort Lauderdale homes for $60M

Homebuilder Tom Bates and his wife, interior designer Katia Bates, are looking to cash out of their two waterfront Fort Lauderdale homes – one tied to the late Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga.

Tom and Katia Bates run interior design firm Innovative Creations. Together they’re listing their home at 524 Isle of Capri Drive for $27.5 million, and one of their most recent renovation projects: the former home of Huizenga’s sister, Bonnie, at 529 Bontona Avenue. The Huizenga home is asking $32 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The total of the two homes adds up to about $60 million.

The Isle of Capri Drive home features five bedrooms, 10-and-a-half bathrooms, Italian-inspired ceiling murals, a collection of antique chandeliers, a pool and 435 feet of deep-water dockage. The couple recently built a guesthouse on an adjacent lot. Together, the main house and guesthouse span about 12,800 square feet.

The second recently renovated, 11,800-square-foot home features six bedrooms, a beauty-treatment room, a gym and a 3,000-square-feet master suite. The property also features about 700 feet of deep-water dockage – enough space to fit a superyacht.
